As most people know, the reason our family started to raise chickens is because we are really unimpressed with how factory chickens are raised.  Having toured many chicken farms, I’ve even seen the suboptimal conditions many “local” producers use, near perfect conditions are almost impossible to find (check out Diamond Valley Farms for near perfect conditions).  We promise to ethically raise these chickens with certified organic feed, on pasture, with healthy supplements.  We are constantly researching the best feeds/supplements but what we hope feed our chickens includes; Diatomaceous Earth, apple cider vinegar, garlic, zeolite, tumeric, and flax seed/meal.  The purchased feed will be free of any soy, corn, antibiotics, or dead animals.  The feed will not be heat-treated and will contain minimal barley.  The chickens will never live in a small cage and will never be in a group of more than 100 birds.  They will be pasture raised with electro fencing, or be moved daily in a chicken tractor (“1312 Cackellac”).  The turkeys when large enough to be safe from predators are totally free range.
